Blue made my Christmas blue :(

Installing a new 550. My first progressive.

Got it all together and started to run a cycle to adjust station 1.

BOOOM! Case won't fit shell holder. Due to my newbieness to the big blue, I walked back through the manual. Everything was assembled correctly.

Now I'm completely puzzled. I fancy myself to be mechanically inclined. WTF is going on? With a big gulp, I swallowed my grease monkey self esteem and dialed for Dillons office in Arizona.

Shane picked up the phone, after brief pleasantries, he asked "Do you have any other caliber kits?" Nope, this is my first Dillon product. What am I doing wrong? "Nothing likely. We probably packed the wrong shell plate." I started to bubble up inside, my intrinsic narcissism coupled with 45 years of entitled self absorption started to scream in rage. Shane continues with "I'll create an open balance and send you a new one."

That was the last straw. I took a deep breath and with full Calguns bravado I exclaimed "Thank you, my address is 555....."

Oh, well. That's 1.5 weeks minimum before the first run on the new press that I thought I was doing tonight. I'll live. Happy New Year!

If you are in CA it takes only a couple of days for parts to get to you.

Scheels sometimes has Dillon shellplates on the shelf.

Dillon is top notch, you will have the parts asap. They are known for great customer service and I have had nothing but great dealings with them.

If you feel like driving to Anaheim, ReloadOC stocks all the Dillon stuff. Great little shop.

              Marikina? Pinoy ka ba?

Out of curiosity, what cartridge are you trying to reload, and what shellplate did they send?

I drank the blue kool-aid and never looked back.

Not sure where you live MM but I've seen Sportsman's Supply have stuff at times (Campbell) - sometimes people come in and sell stuff and they will have surprises where the reloading equipment is.

Since it sounds like Dillon's issue I am sure they sent 2nd day or better.

I've learned the hard way too (not speaking of Dillon) - when you order dies online - check them as soon as they arrive; I've had pieces actually that were missing/incorrect - just a small hazard of online vs. inspection at the time of purchase.

And - just saw this on Amazon:

You may get super fast delivery from a sky dropped drone if they have it on the blimp store - but seriously - if this guy has it you can probably get it fast - I am sure though Dillon shipped it overnight/2nd day anyway.

                      Opo.

They sent me a no. 3 shell plate, no. 3 pins and an F powder funnel with a 9 mm conversion kit. The plate should be a #5.

Gonna load 9mm, and later, 223 for matches.

Sounds like you're in luck then; all you need is an "A" Funnel, and you're good to go on reloading 223 on the Dillon (assuming you have dies, trimmer, etc.).

I lived in Marikina for about 5 months back in 2001. Lots of shoes being made there back then.

Sounds like good customer service from Dillon.

MM, Glad to see you are reloading and Dillon is taking care of you. If you don't get your stuff right away PM me and I'll loan you my 9mm conversion (I don't load it anymore). Good on you for renting all your tools to other calgunners.

Also match 223. PM me (or post here) if you have questions, especially if you are talking about service rifle shooing. There are a lot of great venues in the LA area to shoot service rifle matches.
