Tumble them, just make sure all the pins are out of them before you load em.

What's the danger if a pin is stuck inside a loaded case?

If its in the flash hole, not good.

That would probably be discovered when you tried to seat the new primer. But if a pin is left wedged inside the case wall to wall, what's the danger?

Many variables, but the worst would be if that pin goes out sideways and gouges the barrel the whole way. Two of them would create a helluva mess. Squibbed pins, man.

Also, you could a slam fire or pop the primer seating if its in the flash hole.

              Thanks,
I wet tumbled about 300 cases. They came out nice and clean. As for the pins, I place them in blocks, primer side up making sure no pins are left in the cases.

The question was due to reading some folks believe pins causes case hardening?

My routine is the standard. Bucket wash, deprime resize. Ream primer pocket. 1 hour wet tumble with dawn. 10inutes with lemishine. Rinse and dunk in another bucket with some car wash. Then final rinse.

The brass I am reloading, I believe is already annealed. Mostly 556 federal. Cases have the browned necks.

Do I need to re anneal the necks? I don't want to over work the brass.

                  Thanks.

I don't know too much about annealing or reloading. From what I read people Anneal rifles rds after the third time using the same brass. But depends if your reloading it hot.
When you anneal your cases it supposedly will last longer and you can reuse the same brass more Vs not annealing it. This is especially for high quality brass.
But hopefully a seasoned reloader will chime in.
I want to get into reloading myself and asked about about annealing rifle rds.

Someone's messing with you. Been wet tumbling 223 for four years now. Never heard that it hardens the cases but you might want to anneal them after three or four reloads.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.

Always, the whole reason I stated wet tumbling was because cleaning corn cob out of a .223 is a nightmare I'd rather not go through again.

I wet tumble. I dry in front of a fan for a day. Then I turn the shells upside down on a bullet tray before priming. That helps let the pin fall if there are pins inside, and you can do a quick inspections of the flash holes lookin down on the tray.

I once dry tumbled with corn cob. O boy what a mess. Pockets were dirty, and getting the cob out of those 9mm cases was no fun.
