    Golden Bear Ammo

I just got 2,000 rounds of 9mm FMJ delivered today from AmmunitionToGo.com at around $400. It took about 10 days. They are currently out right now. Has anyone tried this stuff yet? This is the "GOLDEN" Bear not the "BROWN" Bear. Here what the site says:

"This ammo is manufactured by JSC Barnaul Machine-Tool Plant in Russia. Barnaul is considered to be the premier ammunition factory in Russia, and it supplies most of the ammo to the Russian Military. This ammo has a unique brass plated steel case, which gives you all the characteristics of brass, at a fraction of the cost. Since this ammo is brass plated, it functions much smoother than any other steel cased ammo, and it is much CLEANER than any other Russian brand, such as Wolf. I sell both brands and have shot both brands, and I prefer the Barnaul Golden Bear ammo over the wolf ammo, hands down. This ammo looks, functions, and shoots just like brass cased ammo. This ammo is 100% non-corrosive and the primer and case mouth are sealed for moisture protection."

its just regular steel case... brass washed. same stuff as Brown bear and Silver i believe.

ive used Barnaul (same as the Bears) and they are GTG.. just lil dirtier but cleaner than wolf.

    just shoot em =p
Those who ignore... Will be ignored.

I would think that since it's only brass plated it doesn't negate any of the negatives for shooting steel cased ammo. Since it is essentially still steel cased it will not expand as well as brass, causing buildup around the crevices in your chamber making it harder to clean etc.

That ammo is good to go. Shoot it and have fun. I have shot it in the past and have not had any problems. I still have about 2k rounds of the Silver Bear in .308.
