Anyone have issues decaping this stuff? Im using a lee size and decap die. Before i get lee hate i have had no issues with any other brass in any caliber with lee dies, even greek hxp 30.06. This is why im having this dilemma.

The primer is crimped pretty good on those. I use a Lee decapping die to get them out before resizing.

What is the best decapping die?or are they pretty much the same?

they all bend. I buy the replacement shafts 3 at a time. always keep a spare.

I do too, learned my lesson of false savings when I only got one replacement the first time.

Now I have 2 dies and 3 spare pins

If you do a lee decapping die just go to their parts section on the web page and order extra pins. The pins are free and you pay for shipping so get them a dozen at a time to make the shipping worth while.

There's an aftermarket pin for the Lee decapping die that's supposed to be tougher than the OEM part. Made of hardened steel.

Lee decap dies are the best out there. Unless you have an off-center flash hole or trying to to decap berdan brass there shouldn't be any issues.

For example, Greek HXP, depending on primer staking, may take 2 or 3 times to dislodge that spent primer.

If you are using RCBS FL dies (not the older ones with the skinnier pin), the decap pins on those are as thick as the Lee decap pins.

Bought some of those. Still.bend. when there is a pebble in the flash hole. They all.bend.

I have zero problem, but I am using RCBS dies.

I think ive only done about ~1500 .223 rounds, but all with the same lee die, same pin, no issues. That includes some wolf, and lots of LC 5.56/nato stuff.

Different issue with Wolf cases

I don't have a problem decapping Wolf cases, but my problem is that a much higher percentage of them do not slide in and out of my RCBS shell holder. I believe the problem is that the recess just above the rim is too narrow. If I spin the case clockwise or counter-clockwise, I can get most of them to go in, but they are very snug. Winchesters are not quite as bad, but they have more problems than GFL, LC, FC, R-P, or military brass.

So I went and got a Lyman universal decapping die and made short work of the wolf. Of course I also found I had a bunch of IV 13 brass with a flash hole the size of a human hair it seems so I'm not dealing with that crap. Hanks for the input.

They decap fine in my Lee Universal Decapper Die after playing with it for a while. With a brand new decap rod, very gently make the bottom perfectly flat and polish the sides. This has made the biggest difference for me.

They do take a lot to swage the crimp out though.
