Available online in huge amounts. -
That's how I got my Hakim for under $400. "It's chambered in an obscure caliber, 7.92x57. You can't find ammo for it and that is why no one bought it." Okay, make it $350 and I'll buy it. "Sold."sigpic

I once tried to buy some Yugo Mauser ammo once, I asked if the boxes behind the counter were 8mm Mauser. The sales guy said it was 7.9mm. I said I'll take it but he refused to sell it to me because it was the wrong caliber. Took some back-and-forth and finally he sold it to me.
Never thought I'd encounter someone refusing to sell ammo.---------------------

7.92x57 and 8mm Mauser are the same thing. There's a different 8mm Mauser that has a smaller bullet diameter (used in the 88 commission rifles I think) using the newer version in it would be dangerous. If you have a WWII Era mauser thats in 8mm you should be fine. WWI or earlier I would slug the bore to make sureLast edited by CGZ; 11-28-2016, 11:26 AM.Comment
