Turners Black Friday Ad RCBS Kit

Does anyone have any input on this kit? Looks like its on sale at turners on Black Friday for $150 after rebate.

I'm looking to get into reloading and wondering if it's a good kit for a beginner.

    Any input is appreciated thanks.

A good basic kit that will get you going. The price is right, both before and after rebate. I've been reloading for 30+ years and I still use/prefer a single stage reloader. I should qualify that though, I only reload for rifle and usually only do 20 - 40 cases at a time. It forces me to handle/inspect/evaluate each and every case at every stage of the process.

Yeah this is a good set up. Especially since it comes with a powder charge thrower (if I knew what that thing was actually called ). That will certainly speed up the process.

I've used an rcbs rs-2 for 20+ years. It's a huge block of metal. It'll survive even democratic administrations!!

      This is a good deal.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

They are on sale everywhere but that's the best price I've seen. It's a good starter kit to get the addiction going. You will soon upgrade here and there, for me a digital scale was one of my first upgrades.

Must spend $300 to get the $75.00 back from RCBS. You will need dies so that should put you over the top.

Great deal. My friend has been using a Rock Chucker Supreme for years and has only good things to say.

This. A couple other items that will help get you to $300 are calipers and a tumbler, or ultrasonic cleaner.

That is what I started with in 1982. Doing 38 Special and 45 ACP at first and eventually added a lot of calibers, both handgun and rifles.

Great start and I am still using it today. Just finished 400 44 Specials and 500 45 ACP in the past week.

Stop asking questions and buy it already.

That's $300 on RCBS products to get the $75 back from RCBS. It looks to me like the ad is saying $275, but $150 after rebates. There must be other rebates involved somewhere.

Looks like $150 between Turners discount and rebates.

It's a good start. Cabela's has the same deal on-line. Be sure to read the "details" of the rebates carefully. I've been burnt with rebates more than once.
You'll need to buy a couple more things to get started. As already mentioned a set of dies for the caliber(s) you want to reload. But realistically you'll also need:

Calipers to measure Case length and Overall length. I have both digital and analog, and actually prefer the analog dial. You need to know when your OAL is correct after seating the bullet.

Case trimer. I have several types but to get started the low cost hand set linked below is fine. If case length is too long it can create an over pressure hazard.

Thanks for the input guys. I'm heading to turners right now. The boss made me work today. Hopefully they have one left.

Yes. The RCBS rebate has been going for over a year, and it ends January 31st, 2017.

Not a bad deal if you want those RCBS products specific.
