I have an RCBS case trimmer with the three way cutting heads for 30 and 22 cal that trims, and deburrs/chamfers that I like a lot. I have considered getting the drill adapter but I really do not mind handcranking it. My buddy has a Giraud and its pretty awesome, might get one of those if I get a wild hair.

I have a Lyman case trimmer. It has an adjustable chuck that fits almost any standard cartridge. It has a coarse and fins length adjustment.

edit: I noticed that this trimmer has bad reviews on MidwayUSA website. I have had mine for about 25 years, and never had a problem - except for some rust.

P.S. The case can NOT have a primer in it otherwise the chuck cannot center the case.

I have the Lyman with the power drill adapter. My dad didn't like and gave it to me, I have no issues with it.

To make setup from one cartridge to the next easier, I keep a perfectly trimmed case for each round I do. I slap that into the trimmer, set the length against that case and go to town.

Yes. I have it. It does a decent job. It will get you in the ballpark of oal. The adjustments aren't that great but for a compact set uo, it's not bad. I have it for 9mm makarov, 223 and 30 06.

Much prefer my forster trimmer though.

Out of curiosity I bought one of these in 223. I was amazed how well it works, especially for the price. Trick is to use a low torque rotary tool like a Dremel on low speed or a cheap power screw driver. It will never be as fast as the others, but it's at fraction of the cost and still faster then doing manual cutting, chamfering, deburring.

I use the Lee trimmer in 5 different calibers. It works great for what I do. I find that I need to stop occasionally and clean the brass chips out of the body. And I put a light coat of white lithium grease on the shaft of the cutter.

I am a fan of this tool but I will say that I am a low volume shooter. A typical range day for me with my rifles is 50 rounds of 30-06, 7X57 and 223. So out of these I may have to trim 30-40 cases total so a low volume tool is ideal for me. Plus it was very inexpensive.

If I were processing the volume of brass that some guys on here shoot I would definitely look for something motorized. If you are a low volume shooter like me the Lee will work well for you.

I've used the cheap Lee cutter studs, they work fine and are accurate, but slow. Tough work getting the case in and our of the case holder.

Recently started using the LE Wilson case trimmer with power adapter. What a HUGE difference. You can usually find an older one for around $75 if you shop around, and the power adapter isn't expensive.

Here's a video showing what it looks like in use, I do it the same way.

I've heard that there is an issue with the case spinning in the shell holder when using a rotary tool. Have you expreienced that?

Would you do a 100 rounds of each caliber using this tool? Sounds like it would be time consuming and tiring.

I have done as many as 300 223 cases in a batch and it was challenging. I switched arms back and forth and got thru it okay.

If I were going to do that many again I would look into a small batter powered driver. Milwaukee makes one that I think would be ideal. I may do it anyways.
