    IDPA Power Factor Load Confirmed

I shot in the Lone Star sanctioned tier 4 IDPA match last Saturday in Cresson Texas. Had my load confirmed by the new radar system, they came in at 750 FPS exceded the required PF of 165 with a safety margin. I used 5.8 grains of Alliant's BE-86 under a Winchester 230 grain FMJ with Winchester LPP, COL 1.265". The load was soft shooting and accurate.

Multiply the bullet weight in grains by thye bullet veloicity in feet per second, divide by 1000. Ingore number to right of the decimal. Example, a 230.1 grain bullet at 795.7 fps: 230.1 X 795.7 /1000=182.86047 or 182 power factor.

Thanks for explaining. I always wondered how PF was calculated.
