copper 22 hornet loading for 223

Has anyone tried loading 40 grain barnes x hornet bullets in 223 cases. Do they perform ok for shooting ground squirrels? They are on sale at wideners for $5 per hundred.

    keep in mind barrel twist.

If you plan to shoot these in 1:7 barrel the twist rate is way too fast.
A 1:12 barrel for these would be better.

Also low weight bullets will not perform well at long distances if they are .224 diameter. Wind blows them around a lot.

If it is any consolation...the hornet is not well known as a super accurate round.
You may look into downloaded 223 loads.
I found this site years ago http://www.jamescalhoon.com/tobee2.php but I am not connected in any way to the author or vouch for the accuracy of the data.
