    Question about buying bullets online

Hey guys was looking to buy some bullets for reloading my .45 but the ranges I go to don't allow bimetal ammo , I don't wanna buy bullets and find out they are attracted to a magnet. Question is how do u tell if the bullets are bimetal? Was looking to purchase hornady or Winchester ? Thanks guys

I don't think I've ever come across bimetal projectiles intended for sale as a standalone reloading component.

Any reputable vendor will list them as such if they exist.

I remember coming across some bi-metal pistol projectiles a long time back. I can't remember if they were for .380 or 9mm Makarov. They were from some overseas mfr like Armscor or something. With rifle FMJ's you have to check because even Winchester had bi-metal 308 FMJ. Hornady, Remington, Speer 45 ACP are copper guilding jackets. I've also had good results with Berry's copper plated bullets, and price might be better. Armscor 45 ACP are brass jacketed-non magnetic. Their price and function were good.

If Hornady get the item number and give them a phone call.

Most will say in the description but you can always call and ask the manufacturer.

I've had good luck with Xtreme plated bullets ( http://www.xtremebullets.com ). Watch for their sales and free shipping. I've shot somewhere around 10k of them and they seem fairly consistent for a good price.

If you shoot cast lead you never have to worry about a magnet sticking, unless the range is using one of those Lead magnets

+1 on xtreme's... if you burn through a lot, these are a great deal.

Extreme bullets are all I use for pistol rounds.

Precision delta, everglades, rocky Mountain reloading, montana goldl, are all sources for full metal jacket bullets that are a better grade. If that's something you're interested in.

I like Xtreme bullets mainly because I can check the price I'm not using to him and get a price break. Since I work at a shooting range I can get all the rest I want and pretty much get severely reduce prices on bullets.

I would also check out coded with projectiles. Some indoor ranges will not let you shoot cast bullets because they say it's too much smoke in increases blood exposure but I have yet to find one that will not let you shoot the high-tech coated cast bullets
