Anyone on here have experience with loads for this rifle? I found that the seating depth off lands is greater than the COL length in reloading manuals. From what I remember Lyman and Hornady manuals show COL MAX @ 2.800" for 168gr SMK. When I use an expanded case to seat my bullet to the actual lands, my COL length is over 2.9" which is a significant difference. I'm wondering if anyone else has noticed this? Do you just make your COL 2.800" or do you single feed and bypass your magazines entirely? My magazines will not fit anything longer than 2.800" COL. Magazine is Magpul PMAG AC.

That's normal...
Its up to you how you want to go about it... and depends on what you are trying to accomplish...
You either follow the book or venture off the beaten path and make your own recipe which would then be chamber/rifle specific.
If you want it to fit in a mag, then you already have your answer... if you want to deal with single loading, then you can make changes and take advantage of what that might have to offer.ExtremeX -

Thanks guys.. I'm also weary about loss of velocity seating the bullet so far back. Seems like a long "jump" to the lands. I want to take advantage of using mags, But I guess I can live with single feeding. Being that I've only got a 20" barrel I want to squeeze as much MV out of this rifle as I can.Comment

Seating to book length isn't "so far back"...Thanks guys.. I'm also weary about loss of velocity seating the bullet so far back. Seems like a long "jump" to the lands. Why don't you just give that load a try first and then go from there. At least develop a base line result you can work from.
Also Some bullets dont mind the jump and chasing the lands on a factory chamber isn't always the best idea either... sometimes you just cant get enough bullet in the neck.
Id start worrying about that once I get a new barrel and a fresh match chamber cut.
I also shoot with AICS mags, but I still dont even bother trying to chase the lands... hasn't made one lick of difference in my loads on my SPS Tactical
Its a 20" barrel, its going to have a reduced effective range, and trying to hot rod the thing wont always deliver the best results either.
168gr Amax @ 2.830 ... fits in mag with some room to spare, good enough. 2550 FPS, I could go faster, but that didn't really make it better, if anything it started to open up a little.
