    Reloading 7.62x39 with IMR 4895?

I bought a few pounds of IMR 4895 for my 223 reloads, and I wonder if I could use the same powder for 7.62x39. I am not expecting peak performance using IMR 4895 for 7.62x39. Normal plinking rounds will suffice. Has anyone used IMR 4895 for 7.62x39?

according to the hodgdon/imr website, it lists H4895 as opposed to IMR.

Hrmmm...after checking out the website, I am inclined to try out IMR 4198. Seems to work well with both 223 and 7.62x39.

Yes IMR 4198 works great with AK and 52-55gr 223 rounds.

IMR 4198 is a great powder for 7.62x39 paired with Hornady V-Max 123gr bullets.

Careful with IMR 4198 in a AR.... sometimes IMR 4198 doesn't produce enough gas to reliably cycle a AR.
