    Need info on head gage

I have a Dillon prec.308 head space/case gage and need info on reading it correctly. My used brass is just under or about flush even with the high step on the neck end of the gage is this safe for reloading?

That's what the step's milled in there for, front and back. higher than the low, lower than the high = in spec.

Sounds like where most of mine were, with FC match brass. Winchester are typically short.

I measured each piece with a dial caliper. Brass max OAL is 2.015, so anything over 2.014 gets sized.

Are you trying to determine if your ammo is in SAAMI spec, or if it's sized enough to fit in a bolt gun?
Brass for bolt gun's don't need to be sized nearly as much as autoloaders.
