Need 22 WMR brass (once fired)

I need some 22 WMR brass that has been fired. I want to use the brass shell as a punch tool to put some holes in a rubber mat. The size is perfect and it would save me from buying steel or brass tubing.

To make it worth your while to look and send me some, I will send you a brand new box of 50 CCI Maxi-Mag 22 WMR that I bought by mistake one time.

Pull the bullet out with a pair of pliers and pop the primer over a flame. Repeat as necessary.


22LR and .223/5.56, any other .22 caliber brass will produce the same sized holes.

I'd go with the 5.56 as it will last longer.

Thanks. The .223/5.56 and 22LR wouldn't work because I have a die with about a 1/4" hole that I use as a guide. The LR is too short for the 1/2" die block and then punching a hole in the rubber mat. The .223/5.56 necks down and wouldn't fit the die block. Thanks for the suggestions.

I will try pulling the bullet out and popping the primer with a torch. Will it make a popping sound or just a hiss when the primer goes?

It makes a good pop nothing too serious but still be careful.

Pop. For the hissing sound, pour the powder in a bottle cap and apply a match.

Definitely not a hiss. I tried it and in my neighborhood someone would probably call the police if I did too many of them. I'll go to my shooting range and try to find some. Thanks.
