    Dillon 550 Best Options

I intend on reloading handgun ammo using a Dillon 550. Since the Brian Enos store is no longer a Dillon reseller, I don't know what is recommended options were for the 550? Can anyone help. I may buy some options from here (inlinefabrication.com) vs Dillon, but still, recommendations from users are welcome.

    Thanks.

His recommended options were all the options. The strong mount, the bullet tray, roller handle, etc. You need NONE of that to load accurately, however they do make the loading process more enjoyable. My advice is to get none of it at first, then add later so you can fully appreciate the upgrades.

I love the Inline Fabrication ultra mount that has swappable top plates, I can switch between my 550, Rockchucker, and super swager in seconds.

Inline makes a nice ergo handle, and a great light that fits the center hole.

Lastly, I just installed the inline fab dual bin setup for the 550, so I have a tray to hold empty brass.

I did buy the Dillon strong mount, I'll sell it to you because the inline is better.

The Dillon bullet tray is great, though.

Inline Fab does make a nicer Ultra Mount and Ergo handle than Dillon offers.

The Inline bins really make loading easier, but the Dillon Bullet Tray is a better design...easier to reach in

            Yep!

The ergo handle is a must have for every press, and the ultra mount is twice what the strong mount is.

It is too bad Brian isn't doing it any longer. His website was much better than Dillon's. Just the other day, I was thinking of adding 380 ACP to my 550B setup and went to the Dillon site to buy the various items. From my iPad, it was maddening trying to get exactly what I wanted. I finally gave up, will call on Monday.

Whether you get the Inline stuff or the Dillon stuff, things like the mounts, the roller handles, bullet trays and catch bins really make a big difference to me. Stand up straight and pull away, when you are doing 400-500 at a sitting (or more), it really makes a big difference.

Inline Fab makes some great stuff, I have lots of it, BUT thier 550 mount is not better than the Dillon one. The Dillon mount just puts everything in the right place and it works. As far as the Ergo Handle I've tried one and it's different that the Dillon roller handle but not better. I would get the Strong Mount, Roller Handle, and Bullet Tray from Dillon. From Inline I would the lighting kit and tray dams.

The primer slide upgrade is great.

What did you find that was in the wrong place on the Inline Fab Ultra mount?

I'd pick the Inline Fab mount just based on build quality

The location of the empty cases was akward at the least and wrong in reality. As to build quality, I use the Inline Fab mount on my Lee Classic Turret and it works the same as the Dillon mount. Neither weeble, wobble, or move.

After over 35,000 rounds on my 550 the only problem I've has with the priming system is when a spent primer gets trapped between the primer slide and ram. If it ain't broke don't waste your money fixing it.
