Well, there's 7000 grains per pound, so 8lbs = 56,000 grains.

56,000 grains / 25 grains per round = 2,240 rounds.

No I did not, seriously, and I tried looking it up and came up with several answers, so I figured I would ask the reloading geeks of Cal Guns.

Don't forget to deduct a few rounds of powder for spillage and what ever.

I had that question a few months ago too, used yahoo

I generally estimated it to be around 250 rounds per lb of powder for 223.

The 1lb = 7000gr calculation is much more accurate.

I was just wondering if I should order more powder. I still have a bunch of powder left and I have reloaded about 6k rounds of .223 and .308, I just never bothered to check how many rounds I was getting per 8 pound jugs and I saw that other thread about one vendor having vargent in stock so I will order me 3 more 8lb jugs.
