    Do you reload AK round?

Do people reload AK round or best go with steel case? If you don't reload then are you preparing for the online ammo purchase ban by stocking?

I can't find a combination of components that are cheaper than buying steel case factory ammo. The FMJ projectiles I've seen are too expensive to make reloading cheaper and plated projectiles don't have the same performance.

Yes....sort of! I am set up to do so. I have done it from time to time. But as already stated above I don't have a reason to do so like other calibers. The accuracy gain was barely noticeable.

Yes, I do for an AR15 upper. I seem to not be able to match the accuracy produced by american eagle ammo. :/ I use 125gr projectile and 4198imr, maybe I should be using AA1680. Dont get me wrong, I can get about 1.5moa for half the price of american eagle per round but american eagle seems to get 1moa. Is it worth it? Idk. Steel case is around 3-4moa.....crap I reread your question and this had nothing to do with it, lol.

Now for the pending ammo situation, It will be cheaper for you if you took the amount of money you will allocate on components (and machinery) and just spend that on cases of steel case ammo.

Over time I have acquired enough X39 brass cases to make reloading of the round possible. I have all the necessary dies and components available to me but as yet have not dipped my toe into those waters. The time may come when it will not be possible to purchase new ammo here in California and then I will begin to handload my own.

It has crossed my mind then get tossed out. It's not worth it.

Yes I have the ability and components, no I have not loaded any in a while because 1) I havent shot my x39 rifles in a while, 2) I have about 600 rounds of Wolf that I would shoot before I need to relaod for it.

In the past I did load hunting ammo for x39, Winchester brass and IIRC Hornady .310 125Gr Softpoints. Load was comparable to regular Wolf ammo as far as MV with better accuracy. Have also used 110Gr RNSP bullets with similar luck

If you have brass, save it... at some point reloading is an options.

Projectiles are not cheap for the AK round so you don't save much, if any, over buying cases when on sale...

3 years from now, that all might change dramatically

I reloaded steel case x39, with a cast projectile and modified boxer primers.

Just because I can. It was an awesome shooter with 8 grains of unique.

I've reloaded 7.62x39 and it isn't cheaper than the steel cased ammo. However, it is less expensive than buying brass cased non magnet attracting rounds. In So Cal most ranges will not allow the bimetal jacketed rounds so it becomes cost effective at that point.
