2.75" Steel Shotshell Loads, anyone loading?

I have loaded lead shotshells for many years, but with the laws coming into effect on more properties, I am looking into steel shot loading.
While there are some loads shown on powder sites, it seems that some of the wad companies are advancing in the wad make up and such, so I'm wondering if the load data is still valid on the powder sites (first off).
I bought some 'STEEL' Alliant powder and have a load for it from the Alliant data site, but they list a different wad than is available by using a Google search, so I'm not sure that I will use it until I can verify.
I have lots of AA and Remington Club hulls, which are all 2.75" and normally only go for dove and quail during the seasons, never been duck or goose hunting yet. So my loads would be tailored to that end.
Then I am wondering about any loading issues that anyone has run across, tips, tricks, even loads to review.
    Anyone?

I have reloaded Steel 2-3/4" shells.

I used Helarco wads. Now they are PT wads.

I have VP53 - 7/8oz, VP51 - 3/4 oz, and VP70 for 3" and 3.5" shells. They no longer sell the VP70 wads even under the PT brand. The 3/4 and 7/8 ounce wads are for clays/skeet. 3/4oz steel is between 7/8 and 1 ounce lead, and 7/8oz steel is between 1 and 1-1/8oz lead.

VP53 can also be used for buckshot loads.

Check out BP's archive of "load of the week" http://www.ballisticproducts.com/loa...eekarchive.htm

Alliant Steel is a slow powder for heavy (hunting) loads. PT1260 (VP60) and PT1265 (VP65) should be good for what you have.

Attached is some reloading data for the old VP wads (now PT).

Be sure to ask your doctor if depression, rectal bleeding, and suicide are right for you.

I forgot to add that you may need a yellow (steel) shot bottle (it has a larger mouth) and a larger (steel) drop/rammer tube if you reload on a MEC. You will also need different charge bars. I use the Universal adjustable charge bar, and it works.

With this kit you can use any MEC 12-gauge progressive reloader with steel shot. Tip: The steel shot kit is also useful to those using large lead or bismuth -the pellets flow without hanging up. Includes steel shot Drop Tube and Shot Bottle.

With this kit you can use any MEC single-stage reloader for handloading steel shot. Tip: The steel shot kit is also useful to those using large lead or bismuth -the pellets flow without hanging up. Includes steel shot Drop Tube and Shot Bottle

My dad has been reloading steel trap loads for over 20 years. So, yes, there are people doing it.

acoop101 - I will try Shotgun World and see whaddup over there.

Thefeeder - I just might take you up on your offer feeder, I will do a little more searching before hand so that I ask the right questions and don't waste too much of your time.

Carcassonne - Thanks a bunch for the information, yes I do have a MEC and bought the steel 'kit' about ten years ago at a garage sale for $6 thinking that I will need it someday....someday is now. The only thing that I will need is the charge bar for steel.

CSACANNONEER - Any chance that your Pops can provide any load data for the 2.75" x 1 ounce, 12 gauge low base AA or Remington Club hulls? That'd be cool too.

Thanks to all of you for the extra effort.
