223 keep stuck in the chamber

Take a reloaded round, a factory round, your reloading book, a pencil, paper and your high quality micrometers.

Get the factory specs of the case and cartridge from the reloading book-
Overall length
Shoulder length
Etc

Then measure each spec off of a factory round and then you reloads.

Where do they differ?


Will loaded ammo load, extract and eject fine?

If yes, do you see signs of over pressure?

I have adjusted the sizing die to touch the plate and a bit more, also all the reload fall into the ammo gauge no problem.
No most my reload wouldn’t load into the chamber, and very hard to eject, I put dye on it and it shows a little rub mark on the shoulder. And I measure the factory and my reload they are at .35”

I bet if you look down the chamber and barrel you'll see un-burnt powder

Same thing happened to me. Powder charge was too low.

That is what someone suggested too so I clean it really good, but same issue.

Are you crimping your reloads? I'm guessing you are since you are getting scrapes around the shoulder. Crimping while seating the bullet at the same time can bulge the brass below the shoulder. Stop crimping, crimp separately, or use Lee factory crimp die.

Yes I crimp it but I have back it up already, so the shoulder measure .35 just like the factory’s, and they drop in and out of the gauge no problem, here is a few pics, [IMG][/IMG]

are you de-burring by hand? you may not be de-durring well enough and the case won't eject properly.

I am not sure if it is chambering or ejecting issue, once chamber a round it just got stuck, feels like not fully chambered.

Have any factory rounds chambered ok in the rifle since you have experienced issues with your reloads? Just wondering if you didn't have a case separation and there is half a case stuck in the chamber causing your issues.

It could be the chamber on that rifle is a little tighter than your other rifles.

Yes factory round still feeds fine, even my reload some of them feeds fine too, may be I need to seperate the head stamp of the cases.... now I need to find a easier way to pull all my reloads apart.......
