Marking brass with paint=Failure to Fire

    I guess a paint pen could dry and then act as a cushion preventing a solid primer strike.

      This is what I was thinking, I've sealed primers with clear nail polish before and never had a FTF.

        Hard to imagine something seeping past a seated primer, I think there is something else going on.

          So these rounds were shot out of a Ruger LC9spro. Shot my reloads before with no issues. The brass was ss cleaned so no gummed up primer pockets. Even did a 500rnd failure drill without cleaning, granted the guide rod broke at 600 rnd count, but thats was a different issue. The only difference was the paint pen. Also that brass marker is stupid expensive. Ive tried a stamp pad but they smeared really easy. Guess Im stuck doing the whole slash with a sharpie method.

              I ose a brass catcher and an unbrella that clamps on . I am more worried about bent brass than losing
