10mm pig round

I'm almost done building my 10mm project. I am looking for a lead-free projectile to shoot from an 8" Glock barrel at pigs. I have seen the xtreme penatrater. Are there any others worth considering?

Agreed. Unfortunately their heaviest bullet is 155 grain. I went with the Hornady XTP 180gr. I am hoping that I'll leave the state before the lead ban affects me.

A couple items of note:
The 155 XTP might shear petals at the velocities you get from an 8 inch barrel.

The extreme penetrator is not on the list of approved bullets in CA to hunt with, at least not the last time I checked. The controlled fracturing bullet is however.

lead free, you want light. Copper is tougher than lead, they don't make the bullets fracture easily. Goal is to shoot those suckers as fast as you can safely do so, and light weight helps.

Otherwise you will find a perfectly good bullet out the other side of the animal, complete with gore still inside the HP cavity, ready to load other than the engraving marks on the bearing surface.

You should be able to come up with something perfectly suitable in a 10mm for hunting.

Search my history for threads I started. I was looking for the same thing a month or three ago.

There are NO good options. The longer bullet needed for lead-free projectiles kills the performance of the 10mm. Sucks, since I love hunting with mine. Effing CA...

I've had good luck with 11.2gr of 800x using Barnes leadfree 155gr in my kimber. No over pressure signs in the brass but it did launch the brass into outer space and it has a 5" barrel. Just bought some power pistol that I want to experiment with and I need a chronograph to check fps.
