    Case Tumbler Issue

So I picked up a Frankford Arsenal Quick-N-EZ Case Tumbler about a year ago. I used it a few times a month. Worked great until I heard it stop tumbling and just hum (stopped tumbling). Took it all apart to see what the issue was. One of the mounts that houses a bearing broke at the top. Bummer. Emailed the main company (Battenfeld) a week ago to see if I could get a replacement mount to fix the issue. No response. Should I just junk the tumbler and get a new one? How long do tumblers usually last for?

Not sure how long they last in general but the Franford is not top end . I have one and have used it quite a bit but maybe only averaged once a week maybe less when considering the 3 years I've had it . Mine does not vibrate as well as it once did but still works . For me the cost is boarder line on being cheap enough to not waist my time trying to fix . I'd try to find the part but would not spend to much time on it . In my case if I could not find the part and the fact I got 3 years + out of mine . I likely buy another . How ever If you can't find the part and the fact yours only lasted a year . You might consider upgrading

I recently went to wet tumbling and absolutely love the results . It takes a little more effort and time but I save maybe more time and effort not having to manually clean primer pockets and brush my necks .

I don't know it's up to you but lasting only a year seems kinda crappy .

If you know someone with a welder they can tack weld it back together.

If the hole isn't worn, press the bearing back in with a liberal application of red locktite or bearing set.

Get a Lyman 2500 pro magnum. It tumbles the brass twice as fast as that FA.
            My FA lasted three years.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

Looks like you're handy with taking things apart. Look for a bathroom exhaust fan motor and see if you could adapt it to fit. I heard most tumblers use these types of motors. My HF tumbler is going south after 8 years of heavy use. It also hums, but if I give it a "running start" by starting it with the counterweight in the right position, it works fine and goes through the full 3 hours without any further problem.

I have one I bought from Midway in the 1980's and it still works.
I also have ammo boxes from them from even earlier that are good. Both items get a lot of use.
I have some of the newer FA ammo boxes and with very little use they are falling apart. I think they have cheapened up the materials they are using now. I will not be buying ammo boxes or a tumbler from them again

If that slides inside there kinda tight . I'd try some sleeve retaining compound but it needs to use that whole surface area to hold it . So it needs to be kind of a tight fit and not just be retained by the top edge .

Slide that thing back together with the crazy locktite..........what is it, the purple or something.....the one that is never meant to come back apart.......looks like the thin top cast aluminum bearing retention piece cracked off, some mega loctite will hold that bearing in place.......

I recently contacted them about my Frankford vibra-prime. I called multiple times and there was literally no answer. Then I used their website to submit a question, I received an email response the next day, and they mailed me some new parts after a little back and forth.

I've had my small Dillon case cleaner for over 20 years and it's still going strong. Not sure if it's covered by their lifetime warranty, but I haven't had a need to challenge it. Dillon gear is nuclear grade!

^^^ I do not believe anyone has lifetime warr on case tumblers including Dillon. I agree their stuff is very good.
