    Question about used brass

I just received a load of used brass. After tumbling in my vibratory cleaner (working on getting a SS as soon as finances allow), I noticed a few of the cases were missing primers. I did not find any loose primers in the shipment, so they must have been missing prior to shipping. Should I just toss those? or do you think that they could be reloaded. Everything else about them look fine, just missing primers.

Thanks in advance for your help.

If the new primers go in tight, it should be fine.
If they go in loosely, the primer pocket is worn out and you should toss them.
    I bet they are fine.

If it's just a few, I'd toss them. You didn't say what kind of brass you're talking about. If it's something exotic and hard to get, you could check (by feel) how well new primers fit, if while priming they feel the same as the rest you should be good to go.

Sometimes with a grossly over pressure loads, primer pockets open up, are there any signs of any distortion in the case head? Shiny spots? Was all this brass shot in the same gun? Does it look the same as the rest, just missing primers? Is it all truly once fired?

I'm sure you will get other suggestions, but if you can answer these (and I'm sure other) questions you will get more precise answers to your questions.

The brass is 38 special and looks like range pick ups, so not sure or origin.I bought way more than I needed, so I will play it safe and stick them in the scrap brass pile. Thanks for the assistance.

If the primers are missing they fell out for only one reason - the pocket is too loose. You can't tell with range brass how many times they've been reused. Toss em.
