    Dillon 650 stoping on upstroke

While loading with small primers last night the machine started stopping on the upstroke, I was down to the last few shells on the plate and the primer station was empty and it got stuck on the upstroke. There was a primer on the primer punch so I. Reached in and removed it then the machine would cycle. Next cycle same thing, remove the primer from the punch then it would cycle. If I set a case in there it still primes it then rotates a new primer in place but if the station is empty it gets stuck again.
    Any ideas?

The primer should stay seated in the primer disk until the handle is pushed all the way forward. If your primers are above the disk at any time other than that you have a setup issue with the priming system.

I was having issues with mine while in the processing stage. I was getting spent primers getting stuck in the spent primer chute.

On the up/priming stroke, there's a little steel spring-like case retaining arm in the priming station that needs to be adjusted. It should not be in contact fully with the case. I believe Dillon says to leave a gap the thickness of a business card. This gives the case a little wiggle room to self center over the punch

I was having a similar problem. Turned out that the punch in the seater assembly was dirty and would not go all the way back down. This leaves the punch partially up which interferes with the rotation of the priming disc, thus jamming the machine on the upstroke.

I reported this to Dillon and of course they replaced it, but I cleaned the existing one and it worked fine after that. mine got so dirty because I deprime dirty brass prior to wet tumbling. Might start dry tumbling first.

Thanks, I'm going to take the primer assembly out when I get home. Do you have to remove the shell plate to remove it? I've only had it for a couple days and I'm still learning.

The punch takes a 9/16" wrench from below and the feed assembly is those 2 cap screws on top. Easy

I had this happen. It was a problem with the primer system specifically the disk got a primer logged into it and I had to take the entire priming system out.

Silly me, I tightened up the punch and viola it's fixed.
                Thank all
