I prefer a single stage to do brass prep on bottlenecked rounds and to load precision ammo on. Of course, a single stage is also better to learn how to reload on. Every reloading bench should have at least one single stage press.

Same premis for me as new reloader......turning once fired 556 into 75 grain match ammo tailored for my rifle for cheaper than wolf gold per 1000 on a single stage with hand tools. It is not fast by any means, but rewarding with accurate ammo for my gun and the savings is much better for the 75 grain stuff.

The 55 grain fmjbt comes out to about a 100 dollar savings per 1000 rounds.........creating precision 75 grain lr ammo the savings is much greater.

Once around the horn with a progressive press

It will take you a few thousand rounds to recoup your investment

Reloading is another hobby, if you are testing the waters, get a single stage

If you know your end game, better to just get the XL 650 to begin with
