load developement. same caliber different gun

I use to have a smith m&p .45 until it got stolen from my truck. My question is I had developed loads for this gun with several different powders. I replaced this gun with a sig combat .45. Same caliber same barrel length, do I have to do another load development for this gun as well or will the loads from the m&p be right on as well?

No you should be fine unless you made low recoil / mouse fart loads for the M&P, as they may or may not cycle another gun. One gun may prefer one OAL over another as well. Try them out and see, but I would assume you'd see no problems.

I didnt think about the OAL. Im sure the handgun would use the same principal as a rifle would in that one rifle will like the bullet jammed in the lands and one likes jump to the lands. Plan on testing to confirm. Thanks.

Barrel plunk and see how they fit.

Only real issue is if you use it in competitions where PF is measured. You'd need to double check the PF in the new gun before any big matches. Or before any local matches if you want to be honest.
