What comes in the loadmaster kit?

Loadmaster is $255 plus shipping. What's missing?

Everything I need besides consumables of course for the cal, and it puts me in a place where (with everything setup properly and working without issue) That I pull handle, place bullet, pull handle, place bullet, pull handle, and that lasts till I run out of a consumable?

Or to get to that point (handle, bullet, repeat) Do I need other parts not in the kit?

Second question, if I get the kit in 45 colt, assuming the shell plate fits 454 and 460 (I know, big if) will I have all the parts I need to load all three, barring re-set-up with respect to dies etc?

For the most part everything is there for the caliber you order the kit with. But the Loadmaster isn't a "setup & start loading" press. It's a setup........fine tune.......fine tune some more.........and then start loading press. Plenty of vids on youtube to help fine tune the loadmaster to get it running smooth. Once you get it running smooth it runs really smooth. First put in the time to get it running smoothly. I've got mine running really smooth, but I've also got a 650xl so the loadmaster doesn't get that much use.

understood. Add "beat head on wall" and "buy the blue press" starting with post 4-10, but hopefully the real information I'm asking for is in there as well.

My point is trying to figure out if everything is there "for the most part" or is everything simply there, period, to load via "pull handle, set bullet on case, pull handle" loading.

(as opposed to pull handle, manual index, set bullet, feed new case, pull handle, etc)

That's why I can't count on youtube. I have to assume most of those guys added parts, bullet feeders, whatever parts. So I'm not 100% sure if everything comes in the kit or not. All I know for sure is no bullet feeder.

I recommend you get the case collator and adjustable charge bar. Other than that it comes with everything but takes a while to fine tune. Of course you'll need the caliber change equipment ie: small/large/rifle case feeding assembly, it only comes with the large or small primer feeder so you'll need to get the other and the shell plates. Extra turrets if you want. Rifle charging die is also needed if you want to do rifle calibers, the pistol calibers all have powder though expanding dies with the lee die sets.

also shameless plugin of some equipment I have for it that I'm selling

shameless plug away. So the kit does not come with the collator? that's just the red gold-panning-pan that sits on the case tubes, yes? And the adjustable charge bar, I have only experienced RCBS powder drop types which are always infinitely adjustable. Does the lee powder drop only have discrete charge hole sizes or something?

And to confirm, what you are selling for $50 is the powder drop, double disk kit (whatever is needed to run 2x disks, plus a full set of 2x each disks) plus the adjustable charge bar?

Yea it dosen't come with the case collator

this thing (red thing on top)

makes inserting brass a lot easier than just putting them into the tubes individually. As for the power measure, it comes with these plastic disk with holes of a certain size, sometimes they just don't charge the amount you want and they take a lot longer to change out to find the charge you're going for. Ie if one size doesn't meet your liking you'll have to disassemble the whole thing and try another size to find the charge you want. That's why I recommend it.
Though FYI it's only good for about 25-30 grains otherwise you need the double disk kit and you're back to playing the guessing game. The instructions help but they are not spot on. Also it's not good for charges under 3.5-4 grains.

The item I'm selling for $50 is the powder measure, it'll come with all the disks like it normally dose. I'm also throwing in the adjustable charge bar and the auto disk riser, a part you need when using it on the lee turret press so it doesn't interfere with the primer feed system. Your load master will come with a powder measure with the disks, but if you want an extra one I'll be happy to sell it to you. I already sold the one with the double disk system though I think I have extra disks minus the longer screws and braces
            It's these three items

also here's the double disk kit, it's just an extra set of disks along with some longer screws and plastic set braces

Really. so what do people do who use charge weights well over 30 grains? Eliminate the ability to fine tune the charge? Do other powder drops work with the loadmaster?

Well, the lee load master is really for smaller pistol calibers in my mind. You can use the double disk system for larger powder charges, but like I said, it's a hit or miss if it actually gets the amount of powder you're looking for. You should be good for 45 Colt, 454 and 460 might be an issue for the adjustable charge bar alone depending on your load. What I did for some rifle calibers was run two powder measures as I used the RCBS small base die set so I only used 4 slots (if your going to use the crimp die or not it has 5 slots but might be a tight fit), but you'll need to get a powder measure with the spring return upgrade (the ones I linked to/am selling comes with it already, the one that comes with the loadmaster has a chain return system that attaches to the press.) I don't know if any other progressive powder measures would work as I don't have any experience with them. I don't think the dillon one would from what I've seen of it it needs the press to operate correctly, you might try the hornady one but it's two separate $60 parts to my understanding.

                spring upgrade parts

White Rabbit if you are going to Lee for your reloading I would look at the Lee auto drum powder measure. I reloaded 500 mag with the auto disk and it works but some of the powder would leak out. H110 was to fine for the disk. I used a Lee turret for a while. I bought a Dillion 550 but I don't like the way it reloads 500mag so I'm going to try a Forester Coax for my 500 and 460 loads. I'm going to use a Lee auto drum in a single stage to charge and expand the case mouth.

Damn wish I knew about that thing. That's what should come with the lee load master. Watched a video on it, it automatically dispenses powder during expansion, I though you had to crank it when I first looked at the picture. I have a lee "perfect powder measure" that I use now for my reloading and it's good if that anything to base this off of.

I haven't got to try the auto drum out yet but I've got a freind that swears by it. There is a lever you have to pull but you can disconnect it. I'm still out about 2 weeks from loading 500 mag on the coax

Auto drum for sure! I would also add the universal decapping die for station 1, resizing die with the decapping pin removed will help with priming.

I second this for when you have an extra slot available.

                          I usually ran it as:

                          1) decapper / resizer
                          2) empty or resizing w/o pin
                          3) powder and expanding
                          4) seating
                          5) crimping.

                            I run it as

                            1) universal decapping die
                            2) resizing with decapping pin removed
                            3) powder and expanding
                            4) seating
                            5) crimping

Seemed to eliminate a lot of the priming issues I hear about. The resizing die centers the brass over the primer

The Auto Drum for sure and the Case Collator

I'd also go with the Universal Decapper at Station 1 and the Sizing die (with decapping pin removed) at Station 2 to help alignment for priming.

Something you should have, if you don't already, is a scale to weigh/set your powder charge.

I'm a huge fan of Inline Fabrication's Ultramount, Roller Handle, and LED lighting...but you don't really need them to get started, they just make life easier
