Sufficient heat, such as a spark, including an electrical spark, can ignite pretty much any flammable substance, including gunpowder. What would happen there is you'd get a pretty poor burn due to low pressure (atmospheric), but yes, it would burn.

Likewise operating the switch on the power strip.
Either one could produce a spark.

Unplugging from the wall = Right thing to do.

To be safe, I'd take the strip to a gas station and blow it out with the tire inflator... or if it's a cheap one, replace it.

So is the graphite they put in as a flash suppressant. Sweep up very gently with the power off. I would also take apart the power strip and get the powder out of it. I can almost guarantee some got in there by that picture.[emoji91]

You were very lucky it didnt spark upon unplugging.
Putting a charge thru it might not do much but the spark would have definitely
Started some problems. Like mentioned above make sure u clean it before using again with a blower or compressor and be careful!

Take hose and attach to air compressor. Walk out on lawn and blow out the strip.
Vacuum up the powder---I use a small hand held model then empty it on lawn.

If it were to ignite it would only burn --NOT explode

Next time remember---The powder goes into the cartridge not on the electrical strip ---Something good to remember---

Thanks for the laugh. I did unplug from the wall. That is a spendy surge suppressor so I'll be cleaning it out... At home. [emoji4]

All that powder was actually from a box of pulled pills from American Reloading. There was a BUNCH of powder in a single box of 1k 9mm. The box tipped as I loaded the last handful into my vibratory tumbler. Lame.

I have a squirt bottle with the blower that's what would been my way of doing it. I probably would replace the power strip.

No, it can't. Several years ago, a friend & I tried to ignite powder with a stun gun. The sparks moved the powder around but it wouldn't ignite. Heat is required.
