Tool heads--you want three of them. Keep the three tool heads assembled with all the dies and dispenser. Then you just need to pop in it in a new toolhead and maybe change the plate/primers, and that's it. You also will want the case feeder and the bullet holder and output bin. Definitely get a spare parts kit. I've had to replace a lot of things, all of which were in the spare part kit.

Then, for the other stuff, which is for general reloading, just pick what you can find at reasonable prices such as your tumbler, calipers, etc. etc.

caliber change over is like $80-90 dies maybe 50 or so no need to spend more, setup and run 45 ACP and get used to machine, you DO NOT NEED separate powder measure it can be moved form tool head to tool head you DO NOT NEED all the add on stuff to start.

      Aluminum roller handle NOT NEEDED
      Strong Mount NOT NEEDED
      Aluminum bullet tray NOT NEEDED
Set of Pistol Dies ( ex.45 ACP NEED
Powder check system NOT NEEDED chage from tool head to tool head
      Electric case feeder NOT NEEDED
case feeder plate ( small if you already have a large)
      Digital Caliper NEEDED

      case cleaner NOT NEEDED
media separater NOT NEEDED to start
      polishing media - 2 bags
      rapid polish - 2
      case lube

      Primer flip tray NEEDED
2 small / 2 lg primer pickup tubes NEEDED
2nd primer system (large or small) NOT needed change over takes 5 minutes

Maintenance kit NOT NEEDED Dillion will send free what you break
Spare parts kit NOT NEEDED Dillion will send free what you break

I agree with what is above, but once you've tried the aluminum roller handle, you will ask yourself why didn't I do this sooner. I just got a roller handle for my Dillon 450 (same as 550 with solid tool head). Wow, I can crank out ammo a little faster and it is more ergonomically correct.

With my Dillon 450 having a solid tool head, I must unscrew the dies and put new ones in for a caliber change over. Not a big deal. Takes about 20min to do that and have a new caliber setup and ready to go.

Except for the fact that you will be down for a couple of days while waiting for the part. If that is not an issue then you you do not need it.
