    .300WSM load data

I can't find any load data for .300wsm using IMR 4895 however I can find data with Hodgson H4895. They seem to be next to each other for burn rates. Any red flags if I try using IMR 4895 at the H4895 entry levels? Anyone have some load data using IMR 4895 for .300wsm? I'm trying to use the powder I have on hand

It's because IMR 4895 is a bit fast for the WSM case. If you shoot 150 grain or lighter bullets you can use it but it is outperformed by so many other powders that Hodgon only lists one load for it:

150 GR. SPR GSSP - IMR 4895 -60.5 grains for 3176 fps at 62,300 PSI

If you use slower powders like; H414, IMR 4350, Win760 or IMR 4007 SSC you can pick up 50-75 fps using less powder and still load for heavier bullets like the 165-180 grainers. The fastest powder that I use in my 300 WSM is H4350.

I have used H414 with great results. I have also used H4895 and like Fjold says, its not ideal.

Thanks for the info. I'll probably be loading some 165 gain bullets since that is also what I have laying around. Think I'll need to pick up some H414 soon
