    Powder measure/feeder

Can anyone tell me which powder measure is descent and accurate? My POS Lee is spewing powder all over the place. I need one that does not go on a press.

    Thanks

I really like my Harrell Precision powder measure. I have it mounted on a Sinclair clamp stand. Smooth throws and very consistent with proper technique.

The Harrel's are one of the best in the world ($250-$300) but for general use <$100 I use the RCBS Uniflow

Will the RCBS measure fit on a Dillon 650?

The Hornady Lock-N-Load measure is a copy of the RCBS

Parts interchange between the Lock-N-Load, Quick Change and Uniflow. You can convert a Uniflow to a Quick Change etc., I did since I had a couple of standard Uniflows sitting around.

The Hornady is better in one important way, you can see the powder level. The green RCBS plastic does not pass light very well and unless you have it directly back lit, you will have to remove the lid to see how much powder you have left.

All of these do not spill and all will throw + or - .1 grains of most ball and flake powder. When you run stick powder through them it may vary + or - .2

RCBS Uniflow - Classic standby, but the measures below all improve on it.

            Hornady Lock-N-Load - Best buy

RCBS Quick Change - This and the Hornady above are about identical other than the color. Slightly more $

i use the lee cause it is only $17

i thing you should take the screw out and clean it up a bit

take it apart understand how it works

              also inspect the drop tube

and yes mine still spills a bit

i keep a capture tray to catch the 4 or 5 granules that escape every throw

Thanks for the input. I think I will go with the RCBS. BTW, Anyone have experience with the Lyman #55?

The Lyman is pretty good, as is the RCBS. I like my redding over the others I have mostly because its the one I've had the longest.

They all collect dust now that I use the chargemaster for almost everything. If not that, its on the dillon.

Personally, I'd get a Redding before the RCBS Uniflow. The Uniflow is pretty sloppy and has a very hard time with anything extruded, even short cut type powders.

Yes, I have a RCBS Uniflow. I use it for pistol ball powders only.

I find the same thing. My Lyman DPS 1200 II (Upgraded to a III) is fast enough when loading a tray at a time with the Rock Chucker. When loading on my Pro 2000 Auto Progressive is when I'm using a standard type powder dispenser. Still 95% or my reloading is on the Pro 2000 so a reliable measure is vital.
