    Yow! WalMart's cupboards are bare!

Went to Molpitas Wa-Mart to buy some ammo
and man o man those shelves were empty. I was lucky as the fellow just got in a case of Federal bulk 22LR which is what I went there for but they had NO 9mm No 223 ball, about 20-30 boxes of Blazer Brass 40 & 45 and a few other scattered boxes of ammo
Entire shelves were empty I've never seen it that bare before
Plenty of shotgun ammo --birdshot that is only 2-3 boxes of buck

The fellow at the counter told me they're having a hard time getting stuff in and what arrives, flies off the shelf.

Mine's been very barren lately as well...but if I check back every day or two, they usually have it semi-restocked. Luck of the draw and of timing, I guess.

Same with the one in Orange. They only had 9mm, .22lr and some .223 ammo in stock.

00 buckshot and most large caliber handgun ammo are gone...

There was plenty of everything at the one in Rancho Cucamonga when I was last there, until I left that is!

with everyone buying those panic buy guns they all need to have a box of ammo with them

              Thats one thing I've noticed
The guy who just bought his 1st gun is usually the guy who buys only 1 box of ammo. --"I've got my gun. I have some ammo. I'm good."

Its us gun nuts who clean off the shelves

That is true. However, you'll just need to drive further away from Milpitas to Walmarts with ammo. I just picked up some from a Walmart out and away from the SF Bay Area population on my way home from the CalExpo gun show yesterday. Plenty of ammo still on the shelves.

Yep. It usually goes like this...

Customer: "How many boxes of Winchester White Box Value Pack/CCI Blazer in <insert caliber here> do you have in stock?"

Employee: "How many do you need?"

                  Customer:"How many do you have?"

                  Employee:"We've got <insert count here> boxes."

                  Customer:"I'll take them all..."

The next poor chap that comes along won't find what they want to purchase.

I can say I've done that...

6+/- years ago Wal-Mart would carry Remington 12ga and 20ga #7.5/#8 dove loads for $29.90/flat. (I couldn't load them for that)

I asked how many flats they had, the cleark responded, after going to the back and checking, with................. 2 big pallets, I said, I'll take them.

The Mountain View Walmart was pretty much "tapped out" when I stopped by the other day.
