    Signed delivery for powder?

I am slightly frustrated as FEDEX Ground has left two notices to let me know that I have to sign for powder. So, I signed the first form and put it back on my door only to have them leave the second notice without explanation. I can't take time off from work to wait around all day, and they don't have Saturday deliveries. Not sure what to do. I simply do not have the time. I have received powder before without signature, so is this a new thing?

If the shipper specifies "signature required", then that's that.

Have it left at the FedEx shipping center and go pick it up before or after work.

UPS will leave it at the door, most of the time, unless the shipper wants you to sign for it. FedEx, for hazmat stuff or high dollar stuff, a signature is mandatory it appears for FedEx. Probably because too many of those scurity camera vids coming out with people jacking packages at the doorstep.

You need to find out where the main FEDEX Ground depot is and pick it up there. I have to go pick my powder up at the depot in Anaheim. The good thing is that they are open until 8:00 PM. The bad thing is if you ask them to hold it so that you can pick it up during the day it usually doesn't get pulled off the truck and goes out for another ride.

I usually had my items shipped to my office. There is always someone who can sign and keep it until I pick them up.

Said it best. I have all my stuff shipped to my shop. That is where I am during most delivery times.

I have it shipped to a local UPS Store near work. I don't need an acct there & it's $5 per box. Knowing my package isn't lying around an unguarded patio is worth the fiver. An added benefit is that commercial locations get deliveries early; I can often pick it up during my morning break.

Cabelas, SG Ammo, Aim Surplus, and many others ship to my door without signing. Nothing has been taken off my property in the 12 years I haved lived here. There are 1000's of more irresponsible customers who order from the same companies. Is there any difference for the people who own guns without owning a safe? Are car owners irresponsible for having up to 25 gallons of explosive fuel unsecured in their front drive way? Do you keep your propane cylinders locked up when not using them? If not, we need to pass many laws to keep these irresponsible people from having access to such dangerous items.
