    As a follow up,

Stopped into my local Wally World and picked up a leather bound journal to take down my notes.

I appreciate everyone's feedback very much.

    Best,
    Cp

      Throw In

I keep all my old targets marked up with data. Always exciting. And I have a macro memory- remember the important stuff.

        Dear Diary,

Today I loaded up some .45 Colt ammo. The 255 grain slugs are sooooo big! The cases needed tumbling, however (Ewwwwww) because some of them were dug out of the dirt at the local range.

        Is that what you mean?

I do keep track of the different loads I've done, on what date, and specific information on the equipment I used. For instance:

        3/26/16 - 50 rounds .38Special
        Cases - various
        Primer - CCI small pistol
        Powder - HP-38, 3.1 gr. (Lee Auto Disk .30)
Bullet - 158 gr. LRN (bear creek)

I use it as a reference to quickly set up another batch if I don't want to experiment or if I was satisfied with that first batch under that combo.
        "Two dead?!? HOW?!?"
[sigh] "Bullets, mortar fire, heavy artillery salvos, terminal syphilis, bad luck --- the usual things, Captain."

          Lol

No I was just seeing what worked for other folks. I've got some established loads for 40, 38, and 9x18, just wanted to see if there was a better way than using mtm stickers on my bullet boxes. Figure if I have a journal I'll be able to keep track of crummy deviations when I go afield of my established loads.

Rather than putting stickers on the plastic cases of completed rounds, I use a small slip of paper or index card with the relevant info on it and throw the paper inside the box. I also write it in a notebook for later reference

They have a free pdf that i print off and staple together. Not the best, but its free and gives you a good starting point to track information. I also keep a little notepad on my reloading bench with the size hole and powder for the auto disk.
