Curious as to Pre-Sandy Hook Prices

    Hola Fellas,

Was looking at ammo prices today and was curious... for those of us who got into shooing sports at/around 2012, what were prices like before the panic?

I understand this will vary quite a bit, but ballpark prices would be what I'm looking for. Yes, this is hindsight, but I am curious as to what I missed out on by shooting paintball guns for too long

For example, 2016 factory prices from ammoseek:
    9mm brass ~18-21/cpr
    .223 steel ~21-25/cpr
    .223 brass ~30-33/cpr
    7.62x39 steel ~22-24/cpr
    22lr ~7-10/cpr
    .308 brass ~45-50/cpr
    12 guage ~20-25/cpr

God may have made men, but Samuel Colt made them equal.

Send me pics of your: Colt Detective Special, AMT Hardballer, pre-64 Winchester Model 70. I'm looking for them.

A brick of 22lr used to be on sale at big 5 regularly for 9.99
That's probably the biggest difference that I can think of.
    And available all the time

Most of the ammo prices with the exception of 22lr have come down to pre Sandy hook prices.

I don't think a brick of 22lr has been $10 since Obama has been elected. $18 or so for 500 rounds. 333 Winchester boxes were $11 and Automatch was $12-13.
I bought 2 cases of XM193 for $275 each about a week before Sandy Hook.

            I started reloading in 98
primers were 8-10 bucks per 1k
223 bullets were about 35per 1kfrom wideners for 55 fmj
45 acp bullets were about 25-40 for 500 depending on what grain and where purchased
            powders were about 17-20 bucks.

            For loaded ammo
Wolf .223 could be had for 1.99 for 20 on sale pmc branded was about 3.99 on sale
45acp was 7.99 on sale i think about 10 was going rate for 50
22 was 8-10 bucks per brick.

Been a gun owner since 91 with a ruger 10/22 and hand guns in 94 with a 44 mag reloads use to run about 12-14 bucks. After a few years adding guns i had to get to reloading.Friends use to laugh at me cause i was wasting time loading vs buying and saving a few bucks but i scooped up alot of their brass too.others who use to say they wont bother reloading all got into it later when prices started to rise.

Just looked at some old email receipts.

I was getting not bricks but whole cases of 22lr for $18.99. Also got 2 1k cases of 556, including shipping, $49.99.

              Oh, and the powders!!!

Got an 8lb jug of bullseye for $29.99. In fact the sales people emailed and said they'd BOGO another if I wanted.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

If you shopped at Cheaper Than Dirt you would have purchased a box of .380 for $12.00 the day before and about $50 the day after.
