    Components and hazmat fees

So Ive been all over LA county looking for reloading components and they either dont have what I want or they charge outrageous prices. I settled for ordering from Midway USA but I noticed they charged me $49 hazmat... Isn't it supposed to be $20? I only order 1000 223 bullets 8lbs of TAC and 1000 primers... not much. Did hazmat fees go up?

Order from Powder Valley. Their prices are lower than Midway and they'll ship primers and powder in one box (up to 48 Lbs) for one Hazmat fee.

Did that $49 include shipping, or did they charge you a $49 hazmat fee, plus more money for shipping and insurance?

oh they charge you that much cause they wont ship powder and primers in the same box

and no they wont put them in 2 boxes then tape the boxes together

so you are paying 2 hazmat fees

so order the powder and try getting the primers from a gunshow

I guess that is up to them... Powder valley shipped them together when I ordered from them (only reason I did not order from them is because of their massive lead time).
