I have a Dillon 550 and reloading some 223. I had purchased brass, from a seller at a gun show, which was told to me that it was re sized and primed and ready to go. After checking case lengths I loaded 50 rounds. Well it won't chamber. After pulling apart 5,de primed re sized and removing powder, reset bullet without powder and primer they cycle great. My question. can I pull de primer pin on sizing die. and size with primer in case and just reload powder and bullet?? Or should I just start over, from start and install new primers. Thanks

Did the seller tell what primers are in the brass? If not ,I would resize and load something on the low end of spectrum and shoot those for practice.Keep it simple!Comment

No you shouldn't. Most full length sizers undersize the neck and the expander ball opens it up to the proper diameter. Now if you have a rod where the pin is removable all by itself, they yes you are good to go.
No problem depriming cases and reusing the primers, I do it all the time. Never had one go off but it's up to you to be sure to take it slow and if you want, wear eye and hearing protection.Comment

If you used lube on the inside of the neck, take a Q-Tip with some brake cleaner and wipe the inside of the neck. Any sign of lube your powder will stick to it.Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

No need to deprime or remove the rod.
Just screw the decap rod up until it does not punch out the primer. Leave it complete and do not remove the decap pin. The older dies used a pin that was straight without a shoulder and the expander ball would collapse the threads if you tightened it without a pin in place.
SO just move the whole decap rod up in the die. Then it will not punch out the primer and the expander ball will be able to do its job of making the inside of the case uniform so you have more uniform neck tension.
This is easy to do. It is safe. It is quick and can be returned to the original set up quickly for depriming while sizing.
This is a easy, effective and simple answer to you problem. Do not overthink or over-complicate this.A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

If it won't chamber sounds like headspace on the round. You check trim length on the cases before you started loading? Book says max trim length of 1.760 if I remember correctly.
I always use a headspace gauge on .223 rounds specially when they are going through an AR.

^^^ Thank You pacrat.
I hear so many way of complicating this when it is not needed.A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.
