Help figure out this ammo.

I got this ammo at a really good price. They were sealed battle packs of 300 rounds apiece. the markings on them say 5.56x45 ball M1A2 628 a 83 on the outside. They are unknown grain but look like a normal 55 grain or so round. They were cased 30 rounds per box and 10 boxes per pack. I'm just trying to figure out where they are produced. The bottom of the shell by the primer says 83 on the top and 12 on the bottom.

That is South African NATO. The 83 means mfgr in 1983. the 12 is the lot number.
