Cutting edge bullets .338

Does anyone have any experience loading this 300 grain bullet in 338? Just picked up 100 from Midway.

I use the 260 and 267gr MTH or MTACs in .338 Lapua. You need to be more specific in the line of product and the cartridge since they make a lot of different purposed bullets.

Cutting edge is CNC solid copper projectile, will be looking to load it in 338LM, most likely using H1000 as I have it on hand. My rifle is the savage 112 target with vortex 6x20 glass. This projectile is much longer then I am used to loading, any suggestions would be helpful

suggestions for what? powder charge? or something to with the very long projectile?

If it is the 300gr MTH that you are planning on using, that is REALLY large bullet for a Lapua Mag. It's probably going to need a special barrel with a fast twist to shoot very well; otherwise, you may have stability issues and low velocities. In the smaller solids, I still load them to about 4.0" in a Lapua magnum. If you choose an MTAC or MTH in the 250-277gr, you will fine that they will usually shoot well with H1000. N570 or Retumbo work well for Lapua with heavier bullets.

The solids are quite a bit more sensitive than the traditional lead bullets. CEB has its driving band around the middle of the bullet, a bit different from a conventional bore-rider. You want to seat the bullet so that the driving band is just outside the case's mouth. Figuring out the right seating depth is key. On some of the lines, they position the driving band in different locations to have a "mag fed" design so that they can be seated deeper and fit a Lapua magazine. I have had no good results trying to seat a CEB 338 anywhere close to magazine length in a Lapua.
