If you ever sell something on E-Bay you get a bill for a percentage of your sale price.

So if your selling a carburetor for $500 it will cost you about $50 after you have sold it in E Bay fees.

If you charge $250 for the same carburetor and $250 for shipping your fee is $25 saving you $25.

On the upper right there is a filtering system that allows you to pick lowest price with the shipping included and that is your best bet.

Every time they raise there percentage you will notice expensive items selling for $1-$5 with $500 shipping fees.

Hey LynnJr, that used to be the case but ebay wised up to it. Now the fee is based off the sale price plus shipping, so it doesn't matter how the seller lists it, it still costs the same in fees. Total fees are 10% plus a percentage for paypal as well.

They charge you for the total cost with shipping. Not just the sale price. It use to be that they charged you for the sale price only, but people were listing items for 1 cent with $300 shipping. I never bid on those items when they were listed that way, because if something went wrong they only had to refund the purchase price and not the shipping cost. I think they changed the rules 8 years ago or more.

I think there is also a bug in the ebay software. I have items that are relisted until sold. I forget about them for several months, and then someone emails me and asks why I am charging $70 to ship a 1 pound item that will fit in a small rate box. I have to go back to the item and fix whatever ebay software did to change the amount.

My total fees are closer to 20% btw. Wish they were lower but eBay gets a lot of traffic.
