question about .45 ACP OAL

Plinking/training rounds are between 1.265 and 1.275 for 230gr ball. I only mic about every 20th round and anything in that range works. Light factory crimp usually applied. My former G30 and all of my 1911's have never complained.

I'm not that particular for punching paper and neither are my guns.

I seat 230gr. FMJ's to 1.250" except Winchester 230 FMJ at 1.260" as it has a longer tapered nose profile. Some 230 FMJ's have a blunt nose and 1.230-1.250" would be best. Hollowpoint bullets I seat to bullet manufacturers recommended overall length. At 1.250" the 230 FMJ's feed fine in various 45's.

For me its 1.255 with a 130grn RN cast bullet.
To long and problems might arise when trying to eject a live round by pulling slide back.
