HELP 556 RELOADING ACCURACY TWIST RATE

I HAVE A LES BAER POLICE SPECIAL IMPINGMENT AR-15.556 1 IN 8 TWIST GREAT GUN SHOOTS SUB MOA OR BETTER WITH MY RELOADS LC BRASS, HORNADY OVER 26 GRAINS OF BLC-2, REMINGTON BENCHREST 7 1/2 PRIMERS , COAL 2.250.

BOUGHT AN LWRC A6A2 UPPER. INSTALLED ON THE LES BAER LOWER, SHOT THE SAME RELOADS AND GOT 2 1/2 TO 3 1/2, GROUPS. GUY AT THE RANGE TOLD ME. THAT LWRC UPPER I BOUGHT IS 1 7 TWIST DOES NOT SHOOT GOOD GROUPS UNLESS HEAVIER BULLETS, LOOKS LIKE I DID NOT DO MY HOME WORK. HE HAS THE SAME UPPER AND SAID LOUSY GROUPS WITH RELOADING ARMSCOR 62 FMJ $.11 EACH , 3 INCHS WITH A FEW REAL FLYERS BESIDES, HE ALSO RELOADS SIERRA MATCHING 69 AND GET 1/2 MOA THROUGH HIS UPPER.

IS THEIR A 62 GRAIN OR HEAVIER BULLET THAT WILL WORK WITH LWRC 1 IN 7 TWIST DECENTLY 1 .5 MOA WITHOUT HAVING TO BUY SIERRA MATCH KINGS AT $.25 A PIECE .

I PAY $.11 A PIECE FOR THE HORNADY FMJS 55. ANY HELP APPRECIATED.

I GUESS I AM BEING CHEAP BUT I SHOOT A LOT AND THE $ .14 PER ROUND ADDS UP, THANK YOU

Try releasing the Caps Lock button on your computer.
A 30cal will reach out and touch them. A 50cal will kick their butt.

^^^ What he said. On internet forums, all caps is taken as yelling. Not a big deal, just a convention that somehow came about.

That being said, I will be looking to develop the same type of load for a 16 in, 1:7 Palmetto State upper. I would love to find a supply of inexpensive 65gr FMJ-BT "range" bullets.

You need a faster twist to stabilize 62 grain and heavier in the 14 1/2"'military barrels...

It's why the AR went from 1/14" twist to 1/9" to 1/7"

But that is to stabilize the green tip and incindiary rounds in the 14 1/2" M4...

There are plenty of folks shooting 45 grain varmit loads from a 1/7

            Same with 55 grain....

Long way of me saying, try a few different weights to see what your rifle prefers....

Then work up the loads as normal.....
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

1 in 7 do great with your weight bullets. It is the bullet quality.

If you read the original post the same exact reloads bullet produces sub moa groups in a 1 in 8 twist upper receiver. since I opened this post I have found several you tubes that demonstrate Lwrc 1 In 7 twists with 3 inch 55fmj groups that change to sub Mia with heavier bullets, but thank you
