My technique on a 650 was always to visually verify powder as I placed a bullet onto the case. As a company we chose powders with greater than 50% fill rate, so double charges and undercharges would be painfully obvious.

I think thats a habit I want to stay in

For an even faster conversion, just setup a press for each.
Then you just take two steps to the side and you are loading the different cartridge:

Noticed that even the quick change kits on the shelf have powder in them. I guess you don't pour the excess powder back in the container?

I'm guessing that's indoors and humidity isn't a problem. In that case, I wouldn't bother emptying them either.

Even if it is a garage, I've used electrical tape as a gasket between the lid and hopper. Moisture wasn't an issue

Why do you need a separate powder measure for 40, 38S, and 223?

Do not need. Somewhat prefer to "set and forget" my powder measures. Less tinkering, less chance of miffing it up haha.

I usually label my measures with powder and charge weight. Then just verify each loading session or powder jar
