Help!!! Case wobbles on shell plate on Dillon 550b

For xmas i got a 223 rem caliber conversion set for my dillon 550. I converted it from 9mm to 223 and the cases wobble like crazy on the 2nd-4th station. Not sure what I did wrong or how to fix it...any help would greatly be appreciated.

(just click on the photo to see the video...not sure how to have videos shown in the thread....)

Wow that is a lot of wobble. I take it that you verified that it is the correct shell plate ant it is snug. I would call Dillon on Monday and ask them wtf is going on. They may need to send you a new shell plate if hat one is out of spec.

How do you verify the shell plate? The 223 shell plate has a 3 on it. Are all the buttons the same because they all have 3's on them as well.

I'm pretty sure the shell plate is the correct one that came in the 223 kit.

Video won't play for me but, check if your primer is seated completely, or look for spilled powder maybe.

Thanks guys, I was able to finally find something in some archives on dillons website and I think i may have to tighten up the shell plate and that will fix the wobble.

The shell plate center bolt should be very snug, I tighten to where it does not move then back off until it just advances freely.

Assuming it isn't out of index, it's either the wrong shellplate or you don't have the shellplate screwed all the way down.

There's a set screw in the side of the ram that holds the main shell plate screw in place.

You need to loosen that, tighten the shell plate screw, then tighten the set screw.

In your video the cases are not secure, and you have the right shell plate and buttons, #3 for both of those.

Make sure the shell plate is located properly on the index as well, but it seems you have not tightened down the shell plate screw as far as it should be. As mentioned, don't forget the set screw in the side. See you manual, or download one from the Dillon site.

Thanks guys. Loosened the set screw, tightened the plate screw and retightened the set screw and it's a lot more stable. Im a caliber change rookie haha
