Question about the Hornady reloading manual

I have been reloading for about 2 years now and started off with a Lymans reloading handbook, then got an Barnes and a Nosler book. Well for my birthday someone got me a Hornady reloading book and when I was going though it I noticed that many times its loads where much lower then the other books showed. Sometimes the Hornady load would be similar to what another book would show as a starting load. (exp 124g RN 9mm HS-6 powder Lymans starts at 5.8g and go to 6.6g, while Hornady's starts at 5.1g and goes to 5.9g There where a lot of others that was just right in front of me.) Does anyone know why this is?

A reloading manual is nothing more than a guide to keep you from hurting yourself.Most cartridges can handle more than a book will show,but in the name of protecting the producers of manuals from liability claim they place a cap on what we read.

You also need to look at how they tested the loads they publish, some use firearms and some use test barrels and universal receivers, not the same as a gun.

Look at the lengths listed for each load as that is usually were the difference is found.
