I don't think there is one list that has it all. It would be outdated each year as new product comes available. You might want to take a reloading class.
Been gone too long. It's been 15 to 20 years since i had to shelf my guns. Those early years sucked.
I really miss the good old Pomona Gun Shows.

depending on where you are, there may be free basic reloading classes in your area.

Your first loading experience is for a "rapid fire bullet spitter". While acceptable accuracy for the genre is easily obtainable. Don't allow yourself to be sucked into the 'abyss" of.

You must make the most accurate ammo ever pit.

It's a fun gun, so load fun gun ammo. Which means any SAAMI spec rounds that functions reliably and puts you on target.

Enjoy your new rifle. Stick to the loading basics to begin with, so you enjoy making your new ammo.

Hodgdon does not make smokeless powder. They purchase it from several sources, package it and distribute it under the IMR, Winchester and Hodgdon brand names.

You do not want to use 210 primers in any semi auto rifle, they are too soft and you may get a "slamfire".

You, sir, are a prime candidate for a reloading class. Where are you located?

If you hurry, you can get some 1# jugs for $24.39/lb.

Considering how rare it is to find Varget these days with vendors selling it for $30+ when they do have it, this is a great deal.

Unfortunately, if you don't see this before the other vultures on calguns, they will be out of stock.

I just bought my first Scar 17 today (woot) and bought 500 rds of this: http://www.sgammo.com/product/308-76...zan-ammo-pp321
That's some good ammo. I've shot a bit of it; it performs well.

As others have said, Varget is definitely still made, but it's very popular, so it's often not in stock.

I use BL-C(2) for the .308 Winchester round. This is the original US military powder for that cartridge and continues to perform very well.

True, there's Lapua and Norma, but Prvi match brass is actually pretty darn good and surprisingly affordable. Even the standard, non-match Prvi brass is good stuff. I currently use Lake City milsurp, and I get good precision from my rounds with that, too.

Ducky and Capybara just gave you some really good advice. A +1 to it. Please, study a couple of good reloading manuals. I studied for two months before I even touched a press, just about every night. Then, do consider taking either the NRA Metallic Cartridge Reloading course or something similar to it.

Listen to your mentor and stay away from internet forums and you tube videos. Well intentioned as they are most are pure rubbish with too much nonsense thrown in for a new reloader to sift through.
