Dillon dies, hour glass reloads?

Per title, why do my dillon dies, have a hour glass look to them? Anyone else have this problem?
they shoot fine, but just look strange.

Crap Happens is the generally accepted answer. I've even purchased factory pistol fodder that had slight bulging at the base of the bullet. End of the day, if it works, it doesn't really matter. Just fugly.

the dies themselves have an hourglass look or the resized brass looks that way?

if you have any problems with Dillon stuff, they have quite a good warranty and will take care of you

If it is the loaded rounds and they are using lead bullets the bullets are larger. I have even seen it with some jacketed bullets.

yes my rounds are both bear creek and pulled fmj's from rocky mountain. The cases look hour glass'd. They shoot fine, just the ocd kicking in. Makes sense, wish i mic'd the projectiles.

cause dillion dies like all are NOT tapered they size 9mm and 45 same top to bottom when they really have a tapper to the case.

Redding makes a tapper sizer die that will do away with that "bulge" bye NOT sizing the case top as small as the bottom.

Or do like i do and live with it.

Lol yup im gonna live with it. I toss the glocked brass i find (well recycle) so i dont really need to spend the $$ on the redding die. Besides for the cost of the die, wouldnt you rather have more boolits? Lol.

It's not a problem.
It's normal when you use a straight carbide insert to size a tapered case.
Millions of rounds made just like that get fired every year.
