Curious on your prices per round

223: Hornady 55gr fmj .09, range brass 0.05/5 loadings => .01, Ramshot TAC or X-Terminator $22 (including hazmat)/290 charges per lb =>0.08, CCI #41 primers .04 that totals out to $0.22/rd. Higher than most others but since I did buy spent brass & hazmat fees are unavoidable I think it's fair to factor those costs in too.

9mm: Hornady 115gr fmj 0.10, range brass .035/3 reloads =>.01, VV N320 $38/1680 => 0.02, CCI SP primers .03 totals to $0.16 /round. Many others load for much less, but they use plated bullets which are much cheaper. Since most commercial ammo is fmj I prefer to compare like to like. 9mm brass lasts longer than 3 reloads, but it tends to fly all over the place so I think 3 firings is a convenient number before it flies away into neverland.

I don't include the cost of reloading equipment because with the amount of rounds loaded, it's been fully amortized long ago.

I don't think so either, and even so, in some cases I've bought components here in the Private Reloading Sales, where I've gotten bullets at 60% of list, and other times I've paid list for them.

Bullets are the biggest expense by far and can range from less than $0.10-$0.50 depending on the size and QTY one buys.

I'm posting in this thread mostly because I'm bored, and there's nothing interesting in the reloading forum!

I'm going to the range soon, so will see how my own loads work.

My lowest I ever got my 223 to was 1,800 rounds at $.06 a round. I scored on a private party craigslist add a long time ago.

40 gr .224 V-MAX pulls, reloading for $0.1576...
55gr (marked-pulls) .224, reloading for $0.1577...
62gr green tips .224 (can't remember if pulls or SS109, but no marks), reloading for $0.1826

Just updated spreadsheet on my (well-not-so-)recent component purchase prices on these:
9mm 115-124gr(mixed bag) plated, reloading for $0.1099... WooHoo! (I thought I was reloading these at .13-.15, until now...)
This is also not including my time to find deals, time to sort these beaches by 115gr, 118gr and 124gr, weighing each individually.

This is not including cob media, Brasso (yes brasso, do MORE research ), tumbler electricity, etc.

Brass is free at my range, most people don't want it, especially 9mm. We ALWAYS come back with more than I started with, even if some gets picked up by the 1-2 other reloaders there.

38/357 = 6 cents per round
40 = 6.6 cents per round
45ACP = 7.3 cents per round
.308/7.62x54R = 7.1 or 9.1 cents per round depending on whether or not I use a gas check for plinker loads and 13 cents a round for higher power (2400 fps) loads.
.223 = 18 cents per round because I have to buy projectiles at 10 cents each.

50BMG - About $3.00 per round using 750 grain Amax, CCI #35 primers and H50BMG.
50BMG - About $0.80 per round using AP bullets that I bout years ago, surplus 5010 and some wolf primers. Again, those components were purchased years ago.

7.5 Swiss, .308, .30-06, etc. run me about 15 cents a round using some frangibles that I bought for 3 cents each when they were available and surplus powder.

2.23, well, I'm still working on a few 8lb jugs of 2230C surplus that I paid $59/bottle for and I still have plenty of 55 and 62 grain bullets that I paid less than $100/3000 from so, my prices are a little out of date. But, feel free to do the math if you want to.

All handgun rounds from .25acp to .45LC and .44 mag cost me +/- $3/50 when I use my own cast bullets.

.22lr will about 3 cents per round using my cast and powder coated bullets, purchased priming compound and +/- 1 grain of powder (depending on the powder and MV I'm looking for).

I cast my own bullets for 9 different calibers so that keeps my costs down considerably. The only bullets that I buy are jacketed bullets for my bolt action .223. My cast bullet reloads are even cheaper because I scored 400 pounds of lead for $.25 per pound. A guy on Craigslist was leaving California and didn't want to pack it in a UHaul. I don't normally find deals like that but for once I came out ahead.
