For the average Shooter most will never notice the variance.
For the competitive long-range Shooter there is a formula that will allow you to calculate the vertical spread associated with weight variations.
If two bullets have the same shape but one is lighter than the other and all else is the same one will have more velocity causing it to print at a different impact location.
This is helpful for 1000 yards and beyond.

Try casting your own bullets, the variance changes with the addition of another ingot in the pot. Not all my lead is from the same source. I only target shoot for pleasure, so it isn't a big deal. Enjoy shooting.

Now I'm sure there are a lot of guys reading this that cringe at the thought of cranking out rounds by the hundreds. These guys measure the water volume of each case, standardize flash holes, measure neck thickness, etc. And that is awesome.

In fact, I admire those guys. That is dedication to your craft and it pays off. Just the other night I was watching the Outdoor Channel and they were showing the 2015 Palma Matches. These shooters were hitting the bull at 1000 yards with iron sights, in a very stiff crosswind. I'm sure their ammo is loaded to the highest standards.

But I like to cast up a pile of lead bullets and go shoot them. Then go home and cast up another pile.
If i was shooting, maybe a nice match or hunting rifle, yes. My dad was one who would do all the minute rifle charges. He did all the case trimming, weighed the cases, bullets and would triple measure the charges.

Me? I lock, load, pew pew pew. I would love to start casting.
          Never enough reloading stuff

For general range fodder, don't worry.
