Are these still available and being made? Or is there just a shortage? Does not seem to be available anywhere in California or online.

they still show available on the Aguila web page, so they should still be in production. I know there were a lot of issues about reliability -
My guess is that the manufacturer is at 100% capacity and is focused on making .22lr and other Ammo that is in demand..
The shirt shells are kinda a novelty item and a low volume item....Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)
